We were going camping with our friend Sam and he recommended Coffee Pot Spring Campground near Glenwood Springs.
It includes several types of trees, rock formations, wildlife, wild flowers and vast mountain views. The road itself goes up about 10,500 feet in elevation ending in Deep Lake then decenends down. Coffe Pot Springs Campground is about 16 miles up in the White River National Forest and features large, very secluded sites with a rock made fire pit. There is a a porta house down the gravel road a little ways, and that's it, nothing else but nature.
Sam camped in his SUV and we camped in BB. We cooked on the fire and hung out watching the shooting stars, and it was so dark that we saw the milky way.
